News from the Board

Dear Woodridge Forest Family,

Last week, the members of our board of directors were invited to visit with our Montgomery County Commissioner of Precinct 4, Matt Gray. It was a very informative meeting to discuss issues related to our Community. Below are the highlights and action items from the 9/11/25 meeting.

  • HCFCD (Harris County Flood Control District) Woodridge Basin – Precinct 4 will be entering into an inter-local agreement with HCFCD so that their new detention basin (located across Woodland Hills Drive from Kingwood Park High School) can tie into the existing basin. Precinct 4 is not a funding partner on this project but remains in contact with HCFCD throughout the process. Phase 1 is going to construction early next year, Phase 2 (which will extend North toward the older part of Porter) is TBD pending funding availability.

  • Our Roundabout at Soaring Woods Lane and Woodridge Parkway -  Precinct 4 to work with Montgomery County Engineering Department to eliminate dangerous parking in the roundabout, for the safety of our neighborhood.

  • Precinct 4 will again schedule the “Inmate Litter Abatement Program” to Adams Street again/more frequently.

  • Precinct 4 is scheduled to review drainage issues on Adams Street where flash flooding is a regular problem.

  • The traffic signal at 494 & Knox - Light is currently blinking yellow on 494 and red on Knox, the latest update from TXDOT is that the light should be programed and operational by Thanksgiving. In the meantime, officials will seek help from the  school district to provide law enforcement/traffic control at 494 and Knox during peak school zone times, to allow busses to exit the neighborhood more efficiently.

  • Precinct 4’s Heavy Trash Drop Off Event is Saturday, September 27th, at Bull Sallas Park from 8AM-2PM.

It is the position of our board that our Commissioner, Matt Gray, is doing a great job for us and we are grateful for his good work. Also, Thank you to his staff, particularly Kennedy Williams, who helped to prepared these notes for us.

Gratefully submitted,

Kenn Munn and the Board of Woodridge Forest

Trees and Visibility

Dear Woodridge Forest Neighbors,
As our neighborhood matures, so do our trees. We are beginning to discuss the impact of our trees on the sidewalks and on the beautification of our homes.
While we develop further plans, please note the following standard for our Street and Sidewalk Clearances:

To ensure safe passage for everyone, tree limbs must hang no lower than:

-- 7.5 feet above the sidewalk,

-- 11 feet above residential streets,

-- 14 feet above main arterial streets. It is the property owner's responsibility to maintain the trees in the  planting strip between the sidewalk and the curb.

To report a tree that does not meet the street and/or sidewalk clearance due to low hanging limbs or branches, whether located on private property or public right-of-way, please report to:
